The price of the RangerXpress system is based upon this route. Please note that for sections of RangerXpress in other states, those states will cover the cost of construction, and a significant share of operational costs.
Click on the boxes for each directional arrow -- say, RangerXpress to Albuquerque -- to learn more about these extensive connections. For example, from Albuquerque one can catch a train to Los Angeles!
It's clear that that the RangerXpress does not stand alone, but rather ties Colorado into national railway system. A weekend skiing in Summit county, followed by a few days in Santa Fe, won't be the drive from hell -- but rather a relaxing railway experience.
Naturally, if you fly into Denver International Airport, you'll be able to check your bags all the way to your destination – just as is done in Europe. So, if your flying into Denver, you can just hop the train -- and your bags/gear will await you at your final destination.
Note: Amtrak service to San Francisco is via Oakland, California.
